Carlos Prieto
I'm a journalist and audio producer with a decade of experience, currently at The Daily, The New York Times' flagship podcast.
My work spans scripting, field reporting, interviewing and episode-building. I cover Latin America, American politics, climate, and sports, aiming to make complicated stories clear by focusing on the human narratives at their center.
About
I’m a journalist with a decade of experience. I was born and raised in Venezuela before moving to Canada to pursue a career in journalism. After school, I worked on a documentary tracking the connection between Morocco’s occupation of Western Sahara and Canada’s agricultural industry. After a period of work in radio, I transitioned to podcasts in 2019, when I launched Politico Energy, a climate and energy show that quickly became a must-listen for stakeholders in the industry. In 2022, I joined The New York Times, where I've focused on immigration, politics and Latin America as a producer on The Daily.
